For the past year, Gaslight Community Theatre Productions has been in a limbo state. It is financially difficult to be “on hold” for such a long period of time. Our concern is that many of our operational costs continue (despite our lack of revenue from course tuitions and ticket sales) and our bank funds continue to deplete, with each passing month. We are worried that we will not have sufficient money for production costs once we are finally allowed to commence with our tour. We are currently investigating grant opportunities, sponsorships, and fundraising ideas. We know you are hopeful that Gaslight will survive these times. Over the past ten + years, many of you have been audience members at our plays, as well as participants in our courses and workshops. Our community actors, directors, and stagehands are eager to return to providing quality entertainment. We hope we will not have to disappoint our audience members, community members, and hard-working Gaslight volunteers.
DONATIONS
During this difficult time, we are turning to you to ask for your support. If you are wondering how you can help financially, we gladly accept donations. Your generosity will allow us to keep Gaslight Community Theatre Productions alive and will ensure that we will be able to continue to exist. Here is a little note we received from some Gaslight fans:
“We have been fans of Gaslight for many years, and we missed attending the Tour with our friends. We always enjoyed seeing the plays and the work of the talented and dedicated volunteers. So, when we looked at our Donation Budget for 2021 this morning, we realized that your Community Theatre is an “essential service” for us, our mental health, our well-being, and that we really miss live performing arts. So, we do hope our donation will help you to weather the storm and that the curtain will rise again.”

Town of Collingwood Land Acknowledgement:
For more than 15,000 years the First Nations walked upon, and cared for, the lands we now call home: Anishinaabek, Haudenosaunee, Ojibwe, and many others who cared for their families and communities, the way we now seek to care for ours.
The Town of Collingwood acknowledges the Lake Simcoe-Nottawasaga Treaty of 1818 and respects all of the Nation-to-Nation agreements that have formed relationships with the original inhabitants of Turtle Island; the reality of our shared history; the current contributions of Indigenous people within our community and seeks to continue empowering expressions of pride amongst all of the diverse stakeholders in this area.
We seek to do better, to continue to recognize, learn, and grow, in friendship and community, Nation-to-Nation.
