COVID – 19 Update

Due to the current government-mandated shut-down, Gaslight Community Theatre Productions has made the regrettable (but responsible) decision to postpone all auditions/rehearsals and performances.
We were fortunate to be able to complete our Page to Stage scene writing sessions with Dan Needles. Four scenes were chosen to be performed at an event called Four Scenes and a Cup of Tea on April 5th, 2020. We were unable to move forward with this presentation as the Simcoe Street Theatre (and all Town of Collingwood facilities) were closed. We hope to resume preparations for Four Scenes and a Cup of Tea as soon as we are allowed to do so.
Five plays have been chosen to be performed on our next tour. These plays were written by local playwrights, under the tutelage of Caroline Smith. We are hoping to hold our next tour in the Fall of 2021. The theme for our next tour is Unsolved Mysteries.
Sadly, our writing programs with Dan Needles and Caroline Smith will not take place during the Winter and Spring of 2021. We look forward to offering these programs again in the future.
We appreciate the continued support of our loyal Gaslight volunteers, sponsors, and audience members. We thank you for your understanding during this difficult time.

Keep Up To Date!

Town of Collingwood Land Acknowledgement:
For more than 15,000 years the First Nations walked upon, and cared for, the lands we now call home: Anishinaabek, Haudenosaunee, Ojibwe, and many others who cared for their families and communities, the way we now seek to care for ours.
The Town of Collingwood acknowledges the Lake Simcoe-Nottawasaga Treaty of 1818 and respects all of the Nation-to-Nation agreements that have formed relationships with the original inhabitants of Turtle Island; the reality of our shared history; the current contributions of Indigenous people within our community and seeks to continue empowering expressions of pride amongst all of the diverse stakeholders in this area.
We seek to do better, to continue to recognize, learn, and grow, in friendship and community, Nation-to-Nation.
